ABOUT US |
Chartham and District Angling Society was formed approx 34 years ago when the founder members approached the local parish council about using the local disused gravel works lake known as Pads Lake [or "mickey mouse lake" to the vets] for coarse fishing.
This pretty 2.5 acre clear water lake near canterbury deep in the county of kent is stocked with most species of freshwater fish including mirror carp [to 27lb], common carp [to 24lb], tench [to 8lb], bream [to 12lb] and pike [to 12lb]. There is also a large head of silver fish for match anglers. The lake in the last 10 years has also had a ongoing stocking of fish what will continue with more double figure carp to be stocked as well as silver fish.
The society is also committed to the building of a purpose built match fishing lake of around 1/2 of a acre pictures of the work being carried out can be found here ,this when finished will be to the benefit of the society's match orientated anglers and will also be available to hire for fishing clubs, associations etc.
